 Also, it is easy for them to get government jobs. There is sports quota in the recruitment of government jobs. Under which players from university level to state, national and international level are recruited on government posts.

A good example of this is Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the former captain of the Indian cricket team. He got the job in Railways only through the sports quota.

Educational Qualification for Sports Quota Jobs

The minimum educational qualification to get a government job through sports quota is 10th and intermediate pass.

However, all government departments have different selection criteria for sports commentator jobs.

  Which is necessary to complete. Apart from this, there is a provision of different eligibility criteria according to different grade pay for jobs in sports quota. Some of its basic rules are as follows-

-The player should have represented the state or country in national or international competition.

The player should have represented his/her university in the Inter-University tournament organized by the Inter-University Sports Board.

The sportsperson should have represented the State School Team in the National Games/Games organized by the All India School Games Federation for schools.

-The player who has received the National Physical Efficiency Award in the National Physical Efficiency Drive.

Recruitment process for government posts under sports quota

Recruitment to government posts under sports quota is done on the basis of written test / sports trial / medical test and then interview.

The order of precedence for the recruitment of sports persons is as follows-

First priority in sports quota recruitment is given to those sportspersons who have represented the country in international competition with the approval of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports.

Second preference is given to those players who have represented any State/Union Territory.

  Should have secured at least third position or won a medal in National Championships at Senior or Junior level organized by National Sports Federations recognized by Department of

Youth Affairs and Sports or National Games organized by Indian Olympic Association.

At number three, preference is given to those players who have represented a university in the inter-university tournament organized by the Association of Indian Universities/Inter-University Sports Board and have secured at least the third position in the finals.

In recruitment to government posts, preference is given to those sportspersons who have won a medal along with representing state schools in the National Sports/Games for School organized by the All India School Games Federation.

Least preference is given to sportspersons who have won National Award for Physical Efficiency in National Physical Efficiency Drive or represented State/UT/University/State School team.
